Boston, MA—November 28, 2025, Collective Futures Fund (CFF), a program of the Tufts University Art Galleries (TUAG), is honored to announce receipt of a generous grant of $25,000 from the Barr Foundation in support of its 2026 grant cycle. CFF supports artists that challenge conventional understandings of art making, emphasize collaborations with community, and focus on investing in the Greater Boston cultural ecosystem. In 2026, with the support of the Barr Foundation, the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, and an anonymous donor, CFF will increase stipends for its three tiers—Sustaining Practice, Ongoing Platforms, and New Projects—as well as adding additional granting slots. As of 2026, CFF will have distributed over a half million dollars to the Greater Boston arts community since its inception. “Barr is so grateful for the catalytic investment of the Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and the visionary leadership at Tufts University Art Galleries to create such an impactful program to get funds into the hands of local artists,” said SueEllen Kroll, Senior Program Officer at the Barr Foundation. “We are thrilled to be able to add more funds to this established collaboration so more artists can experiment and develop their practices.” “In a time when funding for the arts and our communities are at risk at every level, the artist-direct support we provide through Collective Futures Fund in partnership with the Warhol Foundation is increasingly necessary and vital.” said Dina Dietsch, Director and Chief Curator of the Tufts University Art Galleries.Dietsch continues, “We are grateful for the additional support of the Barr Foundation–allowing us to reach more artist and to fund projects at a deeper level. It is an honor to join in Barr’s longstanding championship of the arts and community in the Greater Boston area and beyond.” As costs of living and inflation rise and nation-wide arts funding cuts affect artists in the Greater Boston region, CFF and the Barr Foundation recognize the critical financial support required to maintain a diverse ecosystem and artistic integrity across a wide array of media.
